Stars and stripes

One of my friends fell in love with this Fourth of July wreath and was inspired to make one for the upcoming holiday. She thinks she is not crafty and asked me to help her make it. I said sure, let's try it! That was until I realized how many stars I needed to cut out to make this wreath. I love her but not that much.

As I thought up of alternatives, I found inspiration from my last wreath and decided a yarn wreath would be a good solution.
Instead of trying to wrap from three separate piles of yarn I pulled a decent amount of yarn from each and tied them to start my wreath.
Wrapping the a yarn wreath with one line takes forever but thankfully with three colors it sped up the process. I found the easiest way of doing it was wrap it a few times then tighten it up.
This was done before I knew it. Watching a little HGTV while wrapping always makes it go by quickly :) Cute but a little too simple.
After cutting out some felt stars in a variety of sizes and colors I ended up with the finished product. I used quilting pins with a white pin top to add a little embellishment.
Now it is up and displayed in anticipation of the Fourth of July. Are you decorating for the holiday? Any BBQs or fireworks festivities planned?

ahhhhh how much does this make me want to be in the USA on 4th July! we don't have anything like this in the UK - but would be good to use the same colours for the Queen's Jubilee next year :)
Thanks for sharing! :) x
This is so cute! I hadn't thought of doing one in these colors. Hmmm
Love the wreaths..it turned out great! Beautiful space you got here....hope to see you on my blog:)
Very pretty. I love yarn wreaths. If I had some red, white, and blue yarn, I'd be doing this right now!

How cute and perfect for the 4th. And yes, I would have told my friend the same thing about those stars! Looks easy enough, but yours is a great alternative and probably didn't take as much time.
